X-Yachts at the Warsash Spring Series

After a short postponement racing got underway with a light 8-11 knots of breeze from the west and a strong west going spring tide. The course set was an extended windward-leeward course with a mixture of permanent and laid marks within the Thorne Bank vicinity.

IRC 3 got off to a clean start with Peter Hodgkinson & Sarah Bailey X-362, Xcitable and X-Yachts X-34 lining up at the pin end of the line. It was Stiletto and X-yachts X-34 which rounded the windward mark close together followed closely by Xcitable. As the boats headed downwind against the tide, Stiletto and X-Yachts extended their lead and had a consistent battle jostling for first place. By the finish at Hill Head it was Stiletto which managed to just pip X-Yachts X-34 on the water, however after handicap came into play it was the X-34 that won on the day. Xcitable went on to achieve fifth place in the race which puts them currently lying in eighth place overall.
